The Grey Legacy

So, I’ve turned off comments on this page for a day or so. I just got a minor spam-bomb this morning (something like 50 spam comments all at once.) It’s not that big of a deal, but I have it set up so that I get email messages whenever I get a new comment, which then notifies my phone; and I don’t want to be checking my phone and scrolling through tons of spam to make sure I’m not missing something important. So, I just found out a couple hours ago that I’m going to be moving to Kodiak, Alaska very shortly. My fiancee is in the Coast Guard, and just got her orders for her next assignment. It’s nice, because her best friend is actually stationed there right now; and she’s already visited once before, so she’s met most of the people she’ll be working with. (Which is very rare for anyone who’s familiar with how things work in the military.) (more…)

Took a little bit of a break after that last update. I’ve been working on some potential designs for my Legacy house – I won’t be building it all at once, but I have some extra money and instead of spending it on building up the current house, I want to start laying a foundation at least; and then start out with something that can be expanded into what I really have in mind, tear down the existing one, and move them into the “real” house. Switched to a different theme that should accomodate much better. I think this comes off with a much cleaner style. This blog is still essentially “under construction” for the time being, so if this entry shows up on top, that means I’m currently working on changing some things around, making up a new header, etc.

By getting rid of all the sidebars, it means I have more room for the comic-style “strips” for this new format; but it also means I need to do a bit of work to get all the information I originally had on those sidebars put into it’s own separate page (I still want to make sure I have some sort of blogroll to help advertise the other Legacies I’m following.) And some quick links to make navigating to where you left off a bit easier.

(This isn’t something you have to bother reading. This one truly is just so I can look back, and have a record of what went on. I mean really, any of this “Author’s Note” stuff is just because I feel like writing it. If someone else finds them interesting that’s really just an unintended consequence. It’s kind of like a commentary track, if anything. Don’t get me wrong, feel free to read it. I just don’t want to have to make a whole other Blog for this stuff, and it’s easier to just hit “new entry” or whatever. I sometimes find it helpful to write out what “really” happened in-game, to kind of serve as ideas for later.) (more…)
